<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth titanate powder capable of providing fluid dispersion in which rare earth titanate becomes fully fine particle and is highly dispersed in a dispersion medium.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the rare earth titanate powder is provided which consists of rare earth titanate represented by LnTiO, (in the formula, Ln represents a rare earth element) and in which a value of volume-cumulative particle diameter Dof 99.99 vol.% of accumulated volume by a laser diffraction scattering particle size distribution measurement after irradiated with ultrasonic with a condition of 22.5 kHz and 30 W for 3 minutes is 0.85 to a value of Dbefore ultrasonic irradiation. The rare earth titanate powder has preferably Dbefore ultrasonic irradiation of 2 to 150μm. In another embodiment, the rare earth titanate powder is provided which has a specific surface of the powder of 35 to 120 m/g in addition to the characteristics of the above rare earth titanate powder. The rare earth titanate powder becomes fluid dispersion having high refractive index and high transparency and can be used as optical materials or electrical materials.</p> |
