PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and the like of a glass substrate for a magnetic disc that can meet a further request for reduction in micro waviness of a substrate surface.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method includes polishing by supplying a polishing slurry containing an abrasive grain between a polishing pad having a plurality of openings on a surface and a glass substrate and by moving the polishing pad and the glass substrate relatively to process a surface of the glass substrate, and dressing treatment by modifying the surface of the polishing pad at least one of before start of use and after polishing. The dressing treatment is performed using a dressor 100 for the polishing pad having a grain whose average diameter is smaller than an average diameter of the opening on the surface of the polishing pad, on the surface of the base material. |
