PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boom that allows both easy connection work and reduction in loads on upper and lower connecting parts and reduces the cross section area of boom bodies, and a work machine equipped with the same.SOLUTION: With both boom bodies 14 and 15 connected, an arrangement line L2 connecting between the center of an engaging pin 24a and the center of a connecting pin 26 is tilted with respect to an orthogonal line L6 that is orthogonal to a rotation radial line L1 connecting between the center of a boom foot pin J1 and the center of the engaging pin 24a. A hook 19 has, on the opening side of the hook 19, an introduction part 22 for introducing the engaging pin 24a into the hook 19 and an engaging part 21 for engaging with the engaging pin 24a introduced via the introduction part 22. The engaging part 21 has a pair of support surfaces 21a sandwiching the engaging pin 24a in the direction orthogonal to the arrangement line L2, and the introduction part 22 extends from the engaging part 21 in the direction along the orthogonal line L6. |
