PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell device capable of appropriately re-reducing an oxidized fuel battery cell as required.SOLUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell device comprises: a plurality of fuel battery cell units; a fuel cell module housing the fuel battery cell units; a fuel supply device, and an oxidant gas supply device; and a controller which performs a start step and an operation stop step. The controller is programmed so as to perform fuel battery cell protection control. The controller is further programmed so as to perform refresh control which re-reduces the oxidized fuel electrode or re-oxidizes the reduced oxidant gas electrode. The controller performs refresh control during the start step if fuel battery cell protection control cannot be performed in the previous operation stop step.
