PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems of safely storing data in a low-cost persistent memory.SOLUTION: A memory controller 100 is configured to encrypt data with an encryption key, and the encrypted data is stored in a persistent memory 115. The memory controller 100 is further configured to alter and/or destroy the encryption key in response to a reset event. Even if the encrypted data is retrieved from the persistent memory 115, the encryption/decryption key may be unavailable and thus it is impossible to decrypt the data.
