<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer that enables a user to easily peel a release material layer off regardless of whether the width of a printed tape generated is wide or narrow, thereby improving user's convenience.SOLUTION: A label printer 1 includes: a print head 23; a cutting mechanism 15 for cutting a printed cover film 103, an adhesive layer 101c and release paper 101d at a cutting point to make a printed label L having a desired length; and a half-cut unit 35 for cutting only the release paper 101d included in the printed label L at a half-cutting point. The label printer stores a first correlation that variably sets the number or positions of half-cutting points of one printed label L according to the length of the printed tape, corrects the stored first correlation according to the width of the cover film 103 to newly generate a second correlation, and controls a tape feed roller drive shaft 108, the cutting mechanism 15, and the half-cut unit 35 in a coordinated manner thereby to generate the printed label L having the number or positions of the half-cutting points according to the second correlation.</p> |
