FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: method involves recording skin temperature variations of the nail phalanx of a palmar surface of the index finger. The recording is continuous and lasts for 10 minutes. The recording procedure is performed by means of a temperature-sensing element at a frequency of at least 1 Hz. That is followed by calculating the average vibration amplitude within the range of 0.0095-0.02 Hz for 10 minutes. The calculation procedure is ensured by the mathematical wavelet analysis. If the vibration amplitude is 0.007 Hz or more, mild acute pancreatitis is diagnosed. If the vibration amplitude is less than 0.007 Hz, moderate and severe acute pancreatitis is diagnosed.EFFECT: technique is easy to use; it enables establishing a diagnosis for the first hours of the disease.3 ex
