FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: method involves separation of strip pieces (120) from metal strip (210). Automatic control of an upper and/or lower side of separated strip pieces (120) is performed by means of system (150) of chambers and evaluation device (300) with regard to probably available periodic types of defects determined by a working roll. Control of the surface is completed at detection of periodically occurring types of defects. At non-detection of periodic types of defects, separate pieces (120) of the strip are supplied to strip control unit (140) to control availability of non-periodic types of defects by inspection personnel. Separated strip pieces (120) have a length that is less than double circle of working roll (230), by means of which metal strip (210) has been rolled before.EFFECT: simple, flexible and quick manipulation of test sections of a strip.11 cl, 1 dwg |
