FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: sensor layer based on transparent silicate xerogel, obtained using a sol-gel synthesis method in the presence of Nile red organic dye, is illuminated with light with wavelength of 560-610 nm and fluorescence intensity of the sensor layer is detected in the 630-680 nm wavelength range. Presence of gas-phase acetone is determined from the change in fluorescence intensity.EFFECT: invention enables to determine presence of acetone vapour in air using small-size devices within 5 minutes.2 dwg |
