<p>The present invention provides an image display apparatus which automatically controls the indicating direction of remote control and the position of the pointer on the image to coincide, and the pointing method thereof. The image display apparatus comprises: an alternating current detecting element (4) which detects reference angle (AC), an angle that is formed by the indicating direction of the remote control (200) in response to reference direction (CO) set for display (100); a detection element of remote control direction (3) which detects remote control direction (RD) that appears in case the remote control (200) is seen from a reference point (PO) set on the display (100); and a standard direction control element (14) which controls standard direction (SD) so that the reference point (PO) of the display (200) exists in case the standard direction (SD) is seen from the remote control (200) based on the reference angle (AC) and remote control direction (SD).</p> |
