A system and method for assuring the privacy of a computer application includes generating a user interface with a privacy feature coupled with a computer application. Through the user interface, the user is able to activate the privacy feature while interacting with the computer application. The computer application displays application-based screen elements against a backdrop. Once activated, the privacy feature presents a visual display hiding the application-based screen elements in the application from view without closing or logging out of the application.

1. A method for assuring privacy of a computer application, said method comprising:
using a processor device operably coupled with a memory, performing steps of:
generating a user interface coupled with the computer application, said user interface comprising a privacy feature;wherein the computer application displays application-based screen elements against a backdrop on a screen associated with a device;receiving a first command through the user interface, said first command activating the privacy feature from a user of the device while said user is interacting with said computer application;activating the privacy feature, said activating comprising presenting a visual display hiding the application-based screen elements from view, responsive to receiving the first command, wherein the computer application remains open;receiving a second command through the user interface, said second command de-activating the privacy feature; andrestoring the hidden application-based screen elements to full view, responsive to receiving the second command.
