A waveform data processing device (30) can access a memory device (40) that has stored data on a measured waveform for a chromatograph and the like, information on the starting point and ending point of a peak group present on the measured waveform and comprising a plurality of nearby peaks, and information pertaining to the position and positive/negative direction of each peak included in the peak group. On the basis of the data and information stored in the memory device (40), the waveform data processing device (30) finds the shortest straight line or curved line that has a startpoint and an endpoint that are the starting point and the ending point of the peak group, and that satisfies all of the conditions below, and sets the straight line or curved line to be a baseline for the peak group. The conditions are as follows: (1) in a region with consecutive positive peaks, the baseline passes underneath the measured waveform, and is either a curved line with a protrusion downward or a straight line; (2) in a region with consecutive negative peaks, the baseline passes above the measured waveform, and is either a curved line with a protrusion upward or a straight line; and (3) in a region with adjacent positive and negative peaks, the baseline shape is not affected by the measured waveform. |
