PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception apparatus and a reception method which improve the expression capability of a platform profile for describing additional functions of an application in an HbbTV system.SOLUTION: A reception device 20 includes: a broadcast reception unit 21 that receives an A/V content to be broadcasted, application data, and broadcast AIT, as transport stream from a broadcast and application provider; a network connection unit 22 that processes an Internet connection, accesses a server of the broadcast and application provider, and receives the A/V content, application data, and XML-AIT; a demultiplexer 23 that separates video, audio, AIT, and so on from the received transport stream; an arithmetic processing unit 24 that has a browser 241, a media player 242, and an application manager 243; and an operation input unit 26 that receives an input operation from a user. |
