PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an electrode containing Ru is oxidized in forming a current control film to cause deterioration and variation in rectification characteristics.SOLUTION: A current control element of the present invention comprises: a first electrode; a second electrode provided on the first electrode; a current control layer provided on the second electrode; and a third electrode provided on the current control layer. The first electrode comprises a material at least containing Ru, and the current control layer comprises an oxide containing at least one metal element constituting the second electrode.
