摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connection device capable of connecting two optical fibers by using a simple structure while positioning them in the lengthwise direction with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An optical fiber connection device comprises: a spacer 10 that has a pair of parallel surfaces 11 and 12 and an opening 13 penetrating the pair of parallel surfaces 11 and 12 substantially at the center in a lengthwise direction of optical fibers in an alignment mechanism body 3 of an optical connector, such that the parallel surfaces 11 and 12 match a cross section direction of the optical fibers 1 and 2 and the opening 13 coincides with a position of a core of the optical fibers in a state of being housed and retained in the alignment mechanism body 3. Consequently, the two connected optical fibers can be butt-joined in a state of being positioned in the lengthwise direction of the optical fibers with high accuracy.
