[Also in Division B4] Apparatus for grinding the band blade 1 of a skinning machine for leather and similar articles comprises a blade guide 4 for the cutting zone in the top run of the blade, a regrinding device 6 in the bottom run of the blade, a guide roller 5 in the top run adjacent to the position where the blade runs on to a driving wheel 3, a guide roller 7 in the bottom run immediately after a grinding wheel of the grinding device in the direction of movement of the blade, and an automatically adjusted back guide 10 for the blade with a self-locking effect in opposition to the direction of adjustment in the bottom run of the blade in the neighbourhood of the guide roller 7. The blade passes round both the driving roller 3 and a guide roller 2. The back 8 of the blade is supported by a feed device 9 in the blade 4 and by the guide 10, the front of the blade being guided by the rollers 5, 7. The feed device compensates for the wear of the blade and the material removed during grinding.</p> |
