SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING LIFTING EXERCISES

A user sensor device, which is worn by an athlete, is provided to measure acceleration, orientation and other information about an athlete while exercising. Exercises include lifting weights. The user sensor device sends the recorded data to a mobile device for processing and the mobile device displays the interpretation of the data in a graphical user interface. The athlete uses this information to schedule workouts and manage the progress of the workouts. Using a server system that is in communication with the mobile device, a coach or trainer sends workouts to the mobile device as well as feedback regarding the progress of the workouts.
