PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing reformed coal that uses a low-grade coal as the raw material and that is excellent in production cost while suppressing the spontaneous ignition.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing reformed coal using a low-grade coal as the raw material, which is characterized in comprising: a step of dewatering the coal; a step of agglomerating the dewatered coal; and a step of coating heavy oil content onto the outer face of the agglomerated coal. In the dewatering step, the coal preferably is heating-treated in oil. The heavy oil content preferably is derived from petroleum. The pore volume of the agglomerated coal after the agglomeration step preferably is 0.05 cm/g or more and 0.2 cm/g or less. The coating amount of heavy oil content onto the reformed coal after the coating step preferably is 0.1 mass% or more and 7 mass% or less. In the coating step, the viscosity of the heavy oil content preferably is 10 mPa s or more and 700 mPa s or less. The reformed coal preferably is a reformed coal produced by any of the above methods for producing reformed coal. |
