PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal parts containing a protective film and an advantageous process for applying a protective chemical conversion coating to metals without using chromium compounds.SOLUTION: The metal parts containing a coating film containing TiOFor titanyl hydroxyfluoride, especially the parts made from aluminum, aluminum alloy, steel and stainless steel are described. The coating protects against corrosion. Titanium oxyfluoride and titanyl hydroxyfluoride in the form of a gel, as well as particulate TiO(OH)Fhaving a specific particle diameter are also described. |
