<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas circuit breaker capable of smoothly cooling and exhausting an arc-extinguishing gas with a simple structure and capable of satisfying superior current shut-off performance with a small drive force and a compact size.SOLUTION: The gas circuit breaker includes a movable contactor 20 and an opposite contactor 10 which are adapted to come into contact with each other or separate away from each other when the power is turned ON or shut OFF, and generate an arc discharge in an opening process. The movable contactor 20 or the opposite contactor 10 includes: a mechanical puffer chamber 31 that puffs an accumulated arc-extinguishing gas to an arc discharge; and an exhaust flow pass for exhausting the arc-extinguishing gas. The exhaust flow pass has an acceleration taper 30 in a segment in which the flow pass expands from the exhaustion upper stream toward the exhaustion lower stream.</p> |
