<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating friction stir welding, which is capable of qualitatively evaluating a welded zone.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating friction stir welding includes the steps of: calculating grayscale values of color image information of a welded zone W; applying binarization to the image information being grayscale-converted by using gradation selected from a histogram for the grayscale values as a threshold; and determining a burr existence region and a burr existence level at the welded zone W on the basis of the binarized image. According to this method, as different from when an operator evaluates a welded zone W by visual inspection, the welded zone W formed by friction stir welding can be qualitatively evaluated. Further, by using the binarized image obtained by the grayscale-converted color image information of the welded zone W, determination of the burr existence region and determination of the burr existence level can be executed with high accuracy.</p> |
