PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To commonly use a silencer among various vehicles only by replacing a simple component, and to change a silencing property according to a type and a grade in the same vehicle model.SOLUTION: A main silencer 7 includes: a silencer body 11 having a cylindrical shell 15 opened at both ends in a lateral direction, and a pair of right and left end plates 16, 17 for closing both ends of the shell; an inlet pipe 12 penetrating through the shell for introducing an exhaust gas from an upstream-side exhaust pipe 4a into the silencer body; and an outlet pipe 13 for discharging the exhaust gas inside of the silencer body to the external. The inlet pipe includes: an exhaust pipe-connecting portion 31 connected to the upstream-side exhaust pipe; and a main body portion 34 for guiding the exhaust gas from the exhaust pipe-connecting portion to a vacant chamber inside of the silencer body. The exhaust pipe-connecting portion is fixed to the shell in the penetrating state, and not fixed to the main body portion. |
