<p>Provided are an apparatus for controlling the illumination of a light-emitting element and a controlling method thereof, wherein the apparatus comprises: a light-emitting unit in which a half-wave input is applied to one end thereof, and the first to n^th(herein, N >= 2) light-emitting module units for generating the illumination based on the half-wave input are connected in series in unit order; a switching unit which includes n-1 number of switches, and connects one end of the k^th switch to a contact point of the k^th (herein 1 <= K <= N-1) and (k+1)^th light-emitting module unit, respectively; a light-emitting current source of which one end is connected to the other end of the light-emitting unit and the other end of n-1 number of switches, and which generates a light-emitting current flowing through the light-emitting unit; and a current path selection unit which controls the switching of n-1 number of switches to control the flow of the light-emitting current flowing through the light-emitting unit.</p> |
