<p>Provided are: a steel cord which does not undergo the deterioration of cord strength caused by heating in a vulcanization step; and a method for producing a rubber product. A steel cord (1) has such a strand structure that multiple side strands (3) are twisted on the outer peripheral surface of a core strand (2), wherein the outer peripheral surface of the core strand (2) is covered with a cushioning material (4) comprising a non-woven fabric or a resin film, and the steel cord (1) vulcanizes a rubber molded article embedded in an unvulcanized rubber member at a temperature that is equal to or higher than the melting point of the cushioning material (4).</p> |
