PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that reduces electric charges accumulated at a separation point between a donor web and a receiver web and a method for eliminating electrostatic charges accumulated in a peeling member.SOLUTION: A thermal printer, which is configured to reduce electric charges accumulated in a separation point between a donor web 415 and a receiver web 445, includes at least one thermal print head 460 and at least one platen roller 450. Between the at least one thermal print head 460 and the at least one platen roller 450 is formed a nip, and the donor web 415 and the receiver web 445 are drawn out from the nip. A heat sink is attached to the at least one thermal print head 460, and a peeling member 470 is arranged on the downstream of the nip. The peeling member 470 is substantially insulated electrically from the earth. |
