1. A method for supporting Radio Link Failure (RLF) reason detection or handover failure reason detection, the method comprising:
accessing, by a User Equipment (UE), a first cell of a first base station, wherein the first cell is one of a 3rd Generation (3G) cell or a 2nd Generation (2G) cell; obtaining, by the first base station, an identifier of the UE, wherein the identifier comprises a packet temporary mobile identifier and at least one of a temporary mobile identifier and an International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI); obtaining, by a Radio Network Controller (RNC), one of a routing area identifier and a location area identifier; handing the UE over to a second cell; storing, after the handover, by the first cell, UE context information; re-accessing, by the UE, the first cell, wherein the UE sends a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection request message to the first cell having at least one of an International Mobile Subscriber Identification (IMSI), a packet temporary mobile identifier and a routing area identifier, and a temporary mobile identifier and a location area identifier, and an IMEI of the UE; searching, by the base station, a UE context based on the received RRC connection request message, wherein the received RRC connection request message indicates if an establishment of a RRC connection is due to a Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB); and if a reason for the establishment of the RRC connection is not due to the CSFB, detecting, by the base station, a reason for a failure according to the UE context. |
