PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable natural frequencies of two vertical rotary machines to be adjusted through simple operation at an installing site to avoid resonance when they are vertically connected, and to make the obtained configuration be compact and cause no obstruction.SOLUTION: A vertical rotary machines-connecting device 13 is used for connecting a first vertical rotary machine 11 provided with a first frame 15 to a second vertical rotary machine 12, the device 13 includes: a first flange 21 screwed to a part near a lower end of the first frame 15; a second flange 22 screwed to an upper end of a second frame 17; a connecting part 23 for fixing a lower end of the first flange 21 to an upper end of the second flange 22 to connect them to each other; and a horizontal force adjusting mechanism 30 pulling between a part near the lower end of the first frame 15 and the first flange 21 to each other in the horizontal direction or pushing them to enable the pulling force or the pressing force to be adjusted.
