PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifouling body which can exhibit excellent antifouling properties even in a field requiring good glossiness and can achieve good durability even under severe ambient conditions to obtain both the antifouling properties and the durability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the antifouling body.SOLUTION: An antifouling body 1 includes a substrate 50, and a first fine uneven structure 10 and a second fine uneven structure 20 are formed in the surface of the substrate 50. Recesses 20r and projections 20p forming the second fine uneven structure 20 exist on recesses 10r and projections 10p forming the first fine uneven structure 10. Liquid 40 is retained on the surface of the substrate 50 having the first fine uneven structure 10 and the second fine uneven structure 20. The surface free energy difference between the liquid 40 and at least one of a component material of the first fine uneven structure 10 and a component material of the second fine uneven structure 20 is 10 mJ/mor less.
