PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth-retaining wall requiring no use of a hollow box-shaped member and in which a size of a soldier beam can be easily changed according to earth pressure acting on the earth-retaining wall and a vertical dimension can be highly constructed even when an erection accuracy of the soldier beam is not high, and to provide a method for constructing the same.SOLUTION: A retaining wall includes: a soldier beam (such as H-steel 1) erected on the soil; a plate-like panel (lightweight panel 2) arranged adjacent to the soldier beam; fixing metal fittings (3 to 5) for fixing the plate-like panel to the soldier beam; a mold form (6) having a U-shaped cross-section and arranged so as to surround the fixing metal fittings (3 to 5) and the soldier beam (over a region corresponding to the vertical dimension of the plate-like panel); and solidifying material (infilling concrete 7) filled inside the mold form (6).
