PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of detecting microorganisms rapidly and simply using binding specificity of viruses against microorganisms.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for detecting whether a microorganism exists or not in a sample by the change of a color based on the reaction of the marker enzyme produced in the microorganism and an added substrate after introducing a gene expressing a marker enzyme into a virus increasing in microorganisms, and infecting a microorganism in a sample with the virus; a detection reagent; and a detection kit.
