A bed (1) for maintaining the patient in horizontal position includes a patient support (3), undercarriage provided with casters (4) and a system for propelling the bed (5) which includes a controller (9) and a control panel (10) both connected to a processor unit (8). The controller (9) includes a touch sensor (16) connected to the processing unit (8). An activation member (11) is also connected to processor unit (8). The activation member (11) is a part of the control panel (10) and it serves to activate the system (5) and to initialize the calbration process of the touch sensor (16). An essential condition for propelling the bed (1) is activated touch sensor (16) and concurrently any of the function buttons (17), (18), (19), (20) being pressed. The touch sensor (16) is being recalibrated before every system initialization hence the control of the system for propelling the bed (5) is safe for the patient and the propelling of the bed (1) is comfortable and simple for the personnel. |
