摘要 An alluminium alloy anode, which may be used in primary </>aelectric batteries or as a sacrificial anode in corrosion protection systems, is composed of 0.04-0.5% Sn, 0-0.1% Fe, 0-0.05% Si and the balance, apart from impurities, Al, the Sn being present in solid solution to the maximum degree. Preferably the Al is of high purity. Metals having less than 0.03% maximum solid solubility in Al, for example Ni and Co, may also be present up to 0.5% in total to even out corrosion of the anode. Elements that expand the Al lattice may be added in total amount 0.001-8% in total. Such elements and their proportions are Mg 0.001-7%, Zr 0.001-0.3%, Bi 0.001-0.3% and In 0.001-0.5%. Lattice contractors may be used such as Zr 0.001-0.01%, Cu up to 0.002% and Mn 0.001-0.05%. Low hydrogen-overpotential elements may be present from 0.001-0.5% in total. Such elements are Ag 0.06-0.08%, Co 0.001-0.3%, Bi 0.001-0.3% and In 0.001-0.5%. When used as a sacrificial anode the alloy may be used in the form of a cylinder or as a trapezoidal shaped member.
