PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and conveniently discriminating between a pluripotent stem cell which maintains multipotency and an undifferentiated cell.SOLUTION: The invention is a method for discriminating between an undifferentiated cell and a cell which maintains multipotency using a chromatin peak expression of a SERS spectrum as indicator for a cell fraction dispensed from a cell population comprising the stem cell supposed to have multipotency. Undifferentiated cells can be completely removed and cells which maintain multipotency can be dispensed as pluripotent stem cells by utilizing this.
