PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel organic compound that can be used as a host material in which a light-emitting substance of a light-emitting layer is dispersed.SOLUTION: The organic compound is represented by general formula (G1-1). In the formula, A represents a substituted or unsubstituted dibenzo[f,h]quinoxalin-yl group, Arrepresents a substituent formed by 1 to 4 coupled rings, where the ring is selected from among a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring or a substituted or unsubstituted fluorene ring, and n represents 2 or 3.
