1. A method for manufacturing a biocidal and antifouling composition in an aqueous mixture, comprising the steps of
i) providing aqueous solution A containing HBr at a concentration of between 5 wt % and 30 wt %, and urea at a weight ratio of urea/HBr of at least 0.3; ii) providing aqueous solution B comprising sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl); and iii) combining said aqueous solutions A and B; wherein said weight ratio of urea/HBr is not higher than 3, and wherein said solutions A and B are combined, optionally with an amount of additional water, in such a volume ratio so as to provide a pH lower than 6.0.
