PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide binding proteins, including antibodies, antibody derivatives and antibody fragments, that specifically bind CD154 (CD40L) proteins.SOLUTION: A humanized Fab fragment comprises a variable heavy chain sequence consisting of a specific amino acid sequence, and comprises a variable light chain sequence consisting of another specific amino acid sequence. The CD154 binding proteins are useful in diagnostic and therapeutic methods, such as in treatment and prevention of diseases including those which involve undesirable immune responses that are mediated by CD154-CD40 interactions.
