<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine, capable of securing a time area even when a working angle is small.SOLUTION: The variable valve gear for the internal combustion engine includes a control shaft to be moved by an actuator, a rocking member provided rockably on the control shaft for changing its angle relative to the control shaft depending on the position of the control shaft, an engine valve to be driven by the rock of the rocking member, and a cam mechanism for putting the rocking member into rocking motion. The cam mechanism includes a cam base part, a cam lobe part connected to the cam base part rockably between a first position projecting from the outer periphery of the cam base part and a second position lower than the first position and projecting from the outer periphery of the cam base part, for putting the rocking member into rocking motion, and a changeover mechanism for changing over the position of the cam lobe part. The changeover mechanism changes over the position of the cam lobe part from the second position into the first position during an increase in the working angle of the engine valve.</p> |
