PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polypeptide which has few anticoagulant effects and has cytoprotection at least, and to provide a medicament which contains the polypeptide as an active ingredient.SOLUTION: Polypeptide consists of an amino acid sequence shown in a specific sequence, but not particularly limited as long as it has E5 activity. (I) It has cytoprotective activity and (II) promotes an activation of protein C. It is acquired from the transformed cell prepared by integrating a DNA which encodes a polypeptide into an expression vector to transfect this into a host cell.
