发明名称 Improvements in or relating to apparatus for automatically regulating the temperature of internal combustion engines
摘要
556,642. Cooling cylinders. BRISTOL AEROPLANE CO., Ltd., and KEEBLE, T. S. March 12, 1942, No. 3299. [Class 7 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXXV and XXIX] The flow of cooling air across the cylinders of an internal combustion engine is varied in accordance with changes in one pressure difference in the air stream across the element. A diaphragm 13 responsive to this pressure difference actuates a rod 15, for example, to unbalance a fluid pressure or other relay 23 which actuates a contact 20 to cause a reversible electric motor to adjust the exit flaps of the engine cowling, Specifications 455,248 and 455,249 are referred to, and so maintain a given temperature of the engine. Recording controls may comprise (1) a stack of capsules 31 subject to the induction pressure of the engine (2) a cam 33 adjusted with the throttle setting (3) a spring 35 the tension of which is adjusted with a change in supercharger speed (gear ratio) and (4) a thermostat and stack of capsules 37, in series, responsive to changes in atmospheric temperature and pressure. The apparatus may be pre-set in accordance with standard atmospheric conditions.
