<p>The present invention relates to a device for controlling a flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) which comprises: an input unit to receive power system data and a contingency list including a plurality of contingencies; a calculation unit to calculate a reactive power supply amount for adjusting the supply and demand of high voltage direct current (HVDC) reactive power by using the power system data, to determine the operation mode of an FACTS device based on the calculated reactive power supply amount, to calculate reactive power reserves for all the contingencies included in the contingency list, and to determine the optimal operation point of the FACTS device based on the calculation result; and a control unit to control the FACTS device with the determined optimal operation point of the FACTS device.</p> |
