<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal compound having negative dielectric anisotropy with a large absolute value thereof, high liquid crystallinity and excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal materials, and to provide a liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal display element using the compound. <P>SOLUTION: A fluorobenzene derivative expressed by general formula (1) and a nematic liquid crystal composition using the derivative are provided. Further, a liquid crystal display element using the composition is provided. A liquid crystal composition having negative dielectric anisotropy can be obtained, which is suitable for a vertical alignment system or an IPS (In-Plane Switching) system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
