Fault resolution apparatus and related method

A fault resolution apparatus and related method are described in order to automatically determine correct installation of a graphical user interface component on a framework of a display of a device in a home network. The graphical user interface component which is associated to an application that is running on a service home gateway coupled to the device, is installed by an installer component of the framework. The apparatus comprises analyzing means for receiving framework data information of a generator component of the framework and for analyzing the framework data information. The framework data information is generated by the generator component and comprises at least one of:
- system information of the framework retrieved from the framework by the generator component; and
- a display list of the framework collected from the framework by the generator component; and
- event information received by the generator component from anyone of the installer and the framework, upon subscription to events of respectively the installer or framework.
The analyzing means further generates a result that comprises whether the graphical user interface component is correctly installed on the framework. ( Figure 1 ).
