The present invention relates to: an electrodeposited material used in a silicon-containing active material for use in a lithium secondary battery; and a lithium secondary battery provided with said electrodeposited material. Batteries using a lithium/silicon active material in the negative electrode have been proposed, but in order to make practical use of such batteries, a lithium-secondary-battery active material with higher energy capacity and better charge/discharge cycle characteristics has been sought. The present invention improves energy capacity and charge/discharge cycle characteristics by using, in an active material for use in a lithium secondary battery, an amorphous electrodeposited material containing silicon, oxygen, and carbon. |
