<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat recovery device capable of avoiding deterioration of a spring and preventing excessive heat recovery. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust heat recovery device includes an exhaust pipe 1 that leads exhaust gas from upstream toward downstream, and an outer case 2 that is arranged coaxially with the exhaust pipe 1 and covers an outer portion of the exhaust pipe 1. An exhaust heat recovery part 4 is disposed between the exhaust pipe 1 and the outer case 2. A selector valve 40 blocks off the exhaust pipe 1 and changes a flow of the exhaust gas to pass through the exhaust heat recovery part 4. The selector valve 40 has a valve element 52 which closes an open end of the exhaust pipe 1 by swinging. The selector valve 40 swings in a valve opening direction by the valve element 52 subjected to pressure of the exhaust gas and in a valve closing direction by a weight of the valve element 52 itself. A magnet 58 which attracts the valve element 52 in the valve closing direction is disposed opposed to a heat exchange medium flow passage 14 in a jacket 12.
