1,075,256. Moulding footwear by injection or vulcanization. DESMA-WERKE G.m.b.H. Nov. 18, 1965 [Dec. 10, 1964], No. 48970/65. Heading B5A. A footwear upper 10 is moulded integrally with a tongue 11 and lacing flaps (32a, 32b) (Fig. 2, not shown) in a mould assembly comprising an upper mould 12a, (12b), a last 13, a sole mould 15, and an insert piece 19 which serves during moulding to define the outer surface of the tongue and at least parts of the inner surfaces of the lacing flaps (32a, 32b). The insert piece 19 is pivotally supported by means of a lever 22 and biased away from the last 13 by a spring 24. The tongue 11 is joined to the upper 10 by moulded gussets 11a 11b. Moulding is by injection or vulcanization on to a lining (31). In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) protuberances (28, 29) on the last 13 form recesses in the upper to accommodate the tongue gussets (21a, 21b). In Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) the tongue is joined to the upper without gussets, and the insert piece (33) is spring pressed towards the last.
|
