[Also in Division H2] A hand tool for inserting and removing a plug contact from a plugboard (see Division H2) is of resilient plastics material with a longitudinal channel 35 which is snap-fitted around the lead wire of the contact. In inserting the contact, the nose 34 of the end 31 of the tool abuts the rear of the contact for pushing it in position, the tool then being withdrawn by sliding it along the lead wire. In removing the contact, the tool is pushed along the lead wire into the plugboard and the nose 34 of its opposite end 32 is used for releasing a mating contact finger from an annular flange on the contact, so enabling its removal.</p> |
