The device has a conveyor device (20) for moving several smoking articles (10) along a linear process line. The conveying device has a conveyor belt (25) with several receptacles (52) for smoking articles, a separating unit (95) for blowing of smoking article and a retaining unit (37) for fixing of the smoking article in the housing during separation. The conveyor belt is guided as an endless belt around rollers. A sensor device (58) is provided for detecting the presence of smoking article portion (12,14) in housing. An independent claim is included for a method for recovering tobacco from smoking article. |
