The present invention relates to an optical film having inverse wavelength dispersion properties, which comprises: a first layer containing a resin having a positive phase difference value; and a second layer stacked on the first layer and containing a resin having a negative phase difference value and which satisfies the following equitation (1) and (2). According to the present invention, the optical film is easy to manufacture and has excellent inverse wavelength dispersion properties, although the second layer is formed to be thin. Equitation (1): R_in,b(450)/R_in,b(550) - R_in,a(450)/R_in,a(550) > 0.06; Equitation (2): R_in,b(550) < R_in,a(550). In the above equitation (1) and (2), R_in,b(450) is the in-plane phase difference value of the second layer at the wavelength of 450 nm; R_in,b(550) is the in-plane phase difference value of the second layer at a wavelength of 550 nm; R_in,a(450) is the in-plane phase difference value of the first layer at the wavelength of 450 nm; and R_in,a(550) is the in-plane phase difference value of the first layer of at a wavelength of 550 nm. |
