<p>The present invention relates to a device and a method for controlling the operation of an energy storage system considering both long-term and short-term characteristics. The device for controlling the operation of an energy storage system comprises: a power storage system to charge and discharge power supplied from a power system; a power management system to generate control signals for controlling the charging and discharging of the power storage system by using one or more of a load leveling control method and a frequency tracking control method; and an operation control device to determine the control method used by the power management system, to receive the control signals generated by the power management system, and to transmit the received control signals to the power storage system. The device of the present invention can properly cope with various operation situations of the power storage system and can improve the utilization of the power storage system.</p> |
