<p>According to the present invention, a stereoscopic image display device comprises: a first cost calculation unit which calculates an AD value for indicating the difference between first monocular image data to be displayed on a nth line (n is a positive integer.) and second monocular data located within a first range from the first monocular image data; a second cost calculation unit which uses the first monocular image data and peripheral data thereof and the second monocular image data and peripheral data thereof to calculate a census value; a third cost calculation unit which calculates a smoothness value based on an initial disparity obtained from a n-1th line adjacent to the nth line; an initial matching value calculation unit which calculates the sum of the AD value, the census value, and the smoothness value to produce an initial matching value; an initial matching summation value calculation unit which calculates the sum of the initial matching value of the current pixel and the initial matching values of the peripheral area thereof to produce initial matching summation values; and an initial disparity calculation unit which calculates a minimum displacement among the initial matching summation values as an initial disparity of the current pixel.</p> |
